I have decided to start doing blogs that include recipes! As my first one I chose cinnamon twists. I first made something like this years ago when working at a restaurant where I got to help a lot with the baking. These were something that we made to add to our desserts and I always found them irrisistable so as the years progressed I tweeked the recipe and kept making them for my family, especially my daughter.
This is a recipe that is especially easy for kids to do so they can help in the kitchen and because it is so easy but looks like it was really hard it really builds their confidence in their baking.

You will need the following for this recipe:
-Puff pastry (you can find it in the freezer section of you local grocery store)
-1/3 cup of butter
-1/2 cup of granulated sugar
-2 tbsp of cinnamon
Directions
1. The puff pastry I buy comes in two sheets and this recipe can make both. Lay out a sheet of parchment paper and lay one sheet of thawed puff pastry down.

2. Melt butter and brush the pastry with butter.
3. Mix sugar and cinnamon together (I like a lot of cinnamon so I use all of it but you can cut it to half if you don't like to much cinnamon)
4. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mix on the pastry.

5. Place a parchment paper over the puff pastry and rub it with your hands to lock in the mix then flip it over so that the cinnamon mix side is down.
6. Butter the other side and sprinkle with cinnamon mix then rub it in wit parchment like before.
7. Cut into strips and twist at bout ends to creat desired look. Place on cookie tray.

8. Bake at 350 for 15-20 min of until golden brown. Then let cool and serve.
This recipe goes great with tea, coffee or on its own and they never seem to last long in our house!
